﷯No Time..... One of the most common excuses for not exercising is 'but I didn't have time'...... Absolute nonsense!!!!! Ok, this is gonna sound harsh, and may sting a little, but using the i didn't have enough time to exercise today excuse is just another way of saying that you were too LAZY, or chose to do something else instead. Your lying to yourself and you know it. The truth is that you didn't make time for exercise because you chose to drop it in favour of something else, most likely something that didn't require any will power or effort. I can almost hear some of you screaming at the screen right now saying all manner of profanities aimed in my direction. I've no doubt that most people do lead busy lives where its hard to make time for exercise for lots of reasons e.g. bringing up children, or working a 12 hour day. But the key thing here is 'making time' . Yes you may have had a busy day yesterday, but did you make time for exercise, or did you choose to spend that time doing something like texting, Facebook, In the pub, on the sofa in front of the tv, or in bed etc etc. FACT : There are 24 hours in every day. That's 1440 minutes or 86400 seconds ( yes I did have to use a calculator for that last one) When you break your day down, on most days if your honest with yourself you did have time for some exercise or even physical activity, the truth is it wasn't a priority so therefore you enough didn't make time for it. Lets say the average person sleeps 7 hours a night, which leaves 17 hours in the day. Allowing 2 hours for commuting to work, and a 9 hour working day still leaves 6 hours a day spare. Time for eating and preparing food, ablutions ( posh word for bathroom visits) and other miscellaneous things is probably 2 hours maximum which still leaves 4 hours in every average day. Now, here's where your priorities come into the equation. Some people choose to spend their spare time relaxing. I hear so many people saying that after work the last thing they want to do is exercise and that they like to relax with a glass of wine or by watching tv. That's fine, and there's nothing wrong with relaxing in that way, but its still not an acceptable excuse for saying you didn't have time to exercise. Why not do a little exercise and then have a glass of wine in front of the tv? Not only will you feel more energetic, chances are the wine will taste even better ( I'm not advocating the consumption of alcohol here by the way, but in moderation is fine) . Lots of people choose to unwind after work by going to the gym, or cycling home from work, or playing in the garden with the kids, or taking the dog for a work. Exercise doesn't always have to be sweating your butt off in a gym. Anything that involves moving your body is going to be far more beneficial to your health than staying still.....if your moving your improving! So rather than staying you didn't have time, be honest with yourself and admit the truth is you just didn't make time as it was not a priority. There is always enough time in the day to do the things that you want to do. The key to finding time for exercise is to find something you enjoy doing because then you are more likely to make time to do it, and make it part of your lifestyle.
